Derailleur Gear Collection
I have always had an interest in bicycle derailleur gears and have built up quite a collection over the years. In the collection are front and rear derailleurs, gear levers and cable brackets. I have some old documents as well. I am going to showcase them here for you all to enjoy looking at. Enjoy.
NOS Tectoron rear mech and gear levers. Nice East German Campagnolo copy
Nice example of East German artwork.
Made from 1946 to the early 1950's. Two levers were required to operate, one to move the mech and one to tension the pulley.
Single pulley wheel restricts the gear range. Note the arm extending from the pivot is where the tension cable attaches.
Triplex were imported into the UK by Ron Kitching. They are crudely finished derailleurs.
Derailleur from the former Soviet Union. Note the unusual return spring.
Side image of the Perm. Note the oversize cable pinch bolt nut and unusual logo on the outer parallelogram plate.
This was the top of the range in the mid seventies. This was before Shimano called their top tier groupset "Dura Ace".
This derailleur combines ruggedness with sophistication.
